Nizwa Fort is one of the oldest, largest and most popular tourist attractions in the interior of Oman. With its striking feature, large cylindrical shape central tower is an aesthetical reminder of how invulnerable the town of Nizwa during the period of violent attacks erstwhile.
Nestled in Nizwa, the former capital of Oman, the fort was built during the 17th century and took approximately 12 years to complete. The structure gave vivid details and vintage vibes to whoever walks and appreciates every corner of this fort.

There was also an exhibit that showcases how Omanis lived in the past, their culture and the history of Oman geographically.
Captured two of the many displayed photographs before restoration of the fortress.
Pitfalls and shafts in every turn of the twisty staircase to the fort's tower where boiling liquid like oil, water, honey or dates syrup was being poured to the attackers when under siege.
Just an hour drive from Muscat, one will be nostalgic to witness the sightly minimalistic design of Middle Easterners.
You could also pay a visit to Nizwa Souq which is just beside the fort.
Find some time to watch my visual vlog featuring the fort ;)
