Fancy Eats at Kuanxi (Chinese Restaurant)
Looking for hotpot and barbecue buffet in one? Then, Kuanxi Chinese Restaurant is the place to be.
The moment Kim and I knew that there is going to be a new Chinese restaurant opening soon, we can't contain ourselves but get thrilled. As the name of the restaurant itself, Kuanxi Chinese Restaurant, we are hoping for its authenticity.
The restaurant is along Dohat Al Adab Street, which is just across our street. Let me repeat, ACROSS OUR STREET! Can you now imagine the madness and the cravings that we had been feeling for weeks? They did not prolong the agony, though. They have finally opened! Hooray!!!

It was 11-ish that night already when we saw the balloons and banner that says, "Now Open!". As excited as it may seem, we did not have second thoughts to check their menu.
A Chinese woman, I believe, welcomed us with finesse and informed us that it is a buffet kind of restaurant with hotpot and barbecue. When we heard the words buffet, hotpot, and barbecue, we got wild! We were like, "Finally! Someone started this kind of concept here in Oman!", Öh my gad, hotpot! Barbecue!", "This one is going to be my favorite restaurant!", "I can not wait to try to eat in here!". And so on and so forth. We were the happiest that night.

So, a few days afterwards, we came back. This time, not just to wander and be crazy but to indulge. The restaurant's facade was simple yet elegant.
Every table has smokeless griller for their hotpot and barbecue.
The restaurant provided a variety of meats. There were slices of beef and fish, chicken wings, that were all marinated, squid rings and some vegetables for barbecue.
And for their hotpot, there are sausages, slices of beef, vegetables, and a kind of Chinese noodles which is misua.
But, it isn't only barbecues and hotpots. The restaurant, like in any other buffets, also served various kind of cooked dishes. Beef, lamb, pastries, dumplings, noodles and seafood.
And for desserts, they have ice cream station with eight flavors to choose from and a chocolate fountain which I know everybody will love. For health conscious ones, do not worry because they have fruits, too.
Help yourself with their free flowing of drinks - juices, sodas, coffees, and teas!
We were there for three hours because we do not want to miss a thing! We, thank you Kuanxi team, for a wonderful dining experience! And, for being helpful and hospitable.We will surely be back.

ReplyDeleteIt was nice to see ur review in blog. I just been a month in Oman and craving for a Chinese hotpot. Then i saw last week while on d way to avenue mall.
May i know how much it cost per person ?
